 Apple Keynote

“what NOT to do at work”  created using Apple Keynote app

I first became interested in learning Keynote when I noticed it was a requirement for a Google “branding”  position in their Mountain View, CA location. I am surprised that such a simple app is required for a Google position, but then again, Google was started by apple employees. And simple is better than having to program, especially if you are a designer because creating the illustrations takes time. (I find WordPress a bit difficult to navigate as it is not intuitive as Blogspot – Blogspot being a Google app.)

I found the Keynote app easy to use – as is expected of an apple product. I feel I need to add audio and video to enhance the presentation. I would also like to add some text animation. because I am an artist, I have an interest in storytelling, graphic novels, and illustrations in general. I might even make a doodle animation. Apple iMovie

iMovie is audio-video presentation app for the Apple OS. I found iMovie to be a very well-regarded app among my peers, but becuase I have an interest in editing frames, I prefer Adobe Premiere Pro over iMovie. I also found iMovie’s “Event” saving feature anxiety-provoking which is not conducive to my creativity. Read more>

Adobe Premiere Pro

I totally adore Adobe Premiere Pro! It is complex and takes some doing to conquer the learning curve, but I actually find it so much easier than iMovie which is surprising. I can do what I envision for my script: I can embed a video inside a video, for example. The interface is extremely agile and can become large or small for different views, which I also utilize on the fly. Once accustomed to its flexibility, you will never go back to iMovie. Additionally, it is cross-platform – can be used on both PCs and Mac OS. Read more>

  1. Hi Kathryn,
Thank you for commenting on my posts. I am just about to read/follow your blog as well. It is especially interesting to communicate with another artist/designer. To answer your question, yes, all artwork on my blog is original. I am a fine artist, story sketch artist, and graphic designer with an interest in social media and learning. I find that being an artist/graphic designer is helpful to make my blogs more personal and reflect my true “voice”. WP has good features, but after using Google blogspot, I find it clunky. And I cannot alter the html as I can in blogspot. But, I am always glad to learn something new as long as it makes my life better… we will see… You might find my latest post on meta tags interesting. Apparently, meta tags are not just unnecessary, but hurt SEO.
